MDFR’s Douglas Keller Named Investigator of the Year


Lieutenant Douglas Keller of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) was named the 2012 Investigator of the Year by The Florida Fire Marshals and Inspectors Association (FFMIA). Lt. Keller was presented with the award in October at the Florida Arson Seminar in Orlando, Florida.

During his tenure as an investigator, Lt. Keller has dedicated himself to serving the residents of Miami-Dade through the Fire Prevention Division. Lt. Keller is a 15 year veteran of the department and just this year completed his 1,000 cause and origin investigation.

“We are very proud of Lt. Keller and everything he has accomplished,” said Fire Chief William W. Bryson. “We are always striving to be the best, and we are proud to have the best fire investigator in the state serving the citizens of Miami-Dade County.”

The FFMIA is comprised of ¬¬¬fire professionals who serve as a unified organization for public education, inspection, code enforcement, and arson investigation. Each year a panel consisting of these members reviews each nomination for investigator of the year and chooses the individual who most exemplifies this position.
